Obtain your Unique Student Identifier (USI)

To study for a nationally recognised qualification at a registered training organisation (RTO) such as The Medcast Institute, you will need to have a USI number.

What is a USI number?

USI is a unique student identifier number that gives you an online record of your VET training undertaken in Australia.

Your USI:

  • is made up of a combination of 10 numbers and letters
  • gives you access to an account containing your completed training records and results (from 1 January 2015 onwards)
  • will help you provide evidence of your studies when you apply for a job or undertake further study.

If you don’t already have a USI number, you can register for one through the Australian Government website. You can also use the website to find your USI or check to see if you already have one.

Please note that when you register for a USI number, you will also need to give permission for your Care Academy NSW to view your records and your USI.
